Thank you to everyone who came to my little celebration on both January 29th, and again on February 1st, 2005. It was a remarkable event in ways the surpassed my expectations. Thanks to everyone who contributed their special magic!
It seems that I'm not the only one that had a good time. Here are some of the comments I've received:
"Thank you once again for an absolutely magical evening."
"It was an experience of laughter, tears, soul searching, and music. The ceremony and decorated rooms were just unbelievable, and made the evening. I was amongst some of the warmest and friendliest folks. I met some new faces, saw some old familiar ones, and listened to some unusual instruments make wonderful music. It was a great experience, not your average shindig."
WOW! SO INTENSE IT WAS!!!
I was totally impressed with your artistic talents,
your instrument collection, and your friends. I have
never been anywhere that I have felt more at ease with
meeting new people...It was an experience this guy
will never forget! It was also nice to see some folks
that I had not seen in some time, which was very
cool...
"Thank you soooooo much for the invite. I had such a blast! You outdid yourself as an incredible host. What a wonderful group of friends you have.............and so talented! I very much enjoyed the nights festivities and seeing your creativity up close and first hand."
"Whether it's "Name That Rune" or "Dance Without Pants", it's from the heart and in your face, from the host with the most soul and grace, Scottomantium"
"To Dance
To Share Intimate Stories
To Join Together as One and focus on Reflection and Movement
To Make Merry and Dine on Delectable Morsels and Fine Wine
To Act and Call to Nature the Rejuvenation of Spring
To Scott and Cast Mates
Thank thee ALL for this WONDERFUL RITUAL you so lovingly bring"
It pleases me that we can find such inspiration and enjoyment in the shared expression of each others company, conversation and talents. Here's to welcoming the bright new year and all of it's wonders!

The Psychomantium, as invented by Dr. John Dee
Some of you experimented in the room of mirrors and infinite pathways of candles called the Psychomantium. This was based on a real device to catch a glimpse of worlds beyond. It was conceived by John Dee, a fascinating character and court astrologer to Queen Elizabeth I. You simply must find out about this guy. Click here to get a little info sheet I put together for you about him.

Truly a multifaceted holiday celebrated for thousands of years. Find out more about this seasonal celebration and it's origins here and here.
Bind Runes
During the evening's activities we drew runes in the Norn's (or fate's) spread, and then integrated them into a single design - a statement expressing all that is passing away and coming to be - called a bindrune. An original symbol or glyph unique to us.

M O V I E S
I am the white moon amidst the stars,
Lady of Light, and Bride of all the earth.
My flame burns bright for eternity’s hours.
I give rest, renewal, and rebirth.
I am the fulfillment of all desire,
The harvest, and the seed that’s sown.
Impenetrable depths, and unquenchable fire.
Speak my name! I am known…
…as Brigid
Help us, Brigid of divided night
to ride the candle to the end of light,
to hunt in the glass our lurking selves,
to give our story to helping elves.
In the silver well,
in the bright moon's circuit,
give us a way
and the will to work it!
