Hello and welcome to my music and sound website! For twenty years I have been dreaming of composing and recording my original music. Now after many years of building a studio, learning music software, and acquiring exotic instruments from around the world, I have finally begun to have some samples to share. Yes, I am still very much in the formative stage. Despite the years I've put into it, there is still so much to know. Still, I think that you might enjoy some of what I've put together at this stage of the game.

Music from "Opening the Eye of Light"
I was one of the progenitors for an original theatre piece centering on mythological themes and an ecological message. I created costumes, set design, promotional materials original video sequences that accompanied the live action and appeared in a giant Egyptian eye, plus bodypainted eleven actors with original designs each night of performance. In short it was the most ambitious thing I had ever done. I also wrote all the music— a dozen songs, my first time writing for a "Broadway musical", with lyrics by Joe Wrobel and Aubrey Simpson. Some songs were orchestral pieces over which dramatic readings were orated, some were for single, solo performances. Some tunes were "love duets", some group numbers and some included the whole cast. And almost all of it written within a four week span!

Here are some some selections (mostly practice versions without the stage performer doing the vocal). The pieces below appear in the order that they were in the play. My personal favorites are "Invisible Hands", and "Enter Elementals". Read more about the play here.

Gerry Dignan, "Heart's Desire"
I served as a recording engineer and composer for Gerry Dignan's album of music celebrating his Irish heritage He and his wife Denise came down from Chicago and spent a week in recording his sublime vocals, over which I added accompanying orchestrations. I then brought in other friends and added harp, guitar, mandolin, flute, recorders, bagpipes, etc. Learn more about Gerry here.

Music Composed for the Movie "Portrait"
I was brought in as a bodypainter (thanks to Jonathan Talbot) for a dream sequence in the move "Portrait" by Madrid-based director Jose Carrasco. It was through this initial connection that I acquainted him of my musical composition skills and was then given the task of writing the movie's soundtrack. Sadly my music was not included in the final version of the film. Jose was later offered the services of a famous Spanish composer and being a new an aspiring director, sought to increase his standing in the European film community through having this new guy do the music. So, here it is, you can only hear it here.

Early One-Minute Symphonies
Most of these are one-session sketches created merely to work through the learning of certain software applications (mostly Reason). Orange Julius is my first ever digital music composition. Included in this batch is a tune I put together for a beauty pageant.

Antarctica, an audio diary
In 2000, right after the turn of the millennium, I took an amazing trip to Antarctica. This is an hour-long narrative that I made into a mini cassette recorder while amongst the ice burgs. Edited together with music, some of which are original compositions of mine, this "audio diary" will give you a ring-side seat to the land of the penguins.
